CAMP WAYNE

For my intership, I'm working as a wakeboarding counselor in Camp Wayne for boys
This is a summer camp for children between 6 and 16 years old.
I arrived here the 15th June, 2 weeks ago. We were prepared during 10 days, without any campers in the camp. I have been lifeguard trained during few days, and we made some activities to weld the staf and learn know each members.

I met people from all around the world, New Zelande like the guy in the picture above, Jamaique, Australia, South Afriqua, Columbia... They all speak a very fast English!

As I said, I am a wakeboarding counselor so I work on the waterfront, between the dock and the boat, it's a very nice job.

Once the kids arrived, 4 days ago, it was the rush. There family pays very expensive for 1month and a half at Camp Wayne (around te same price that a year at ESDES), so they want a quality staf, it's normal.
They can do all the sport possible, or almost, soccer, baseball, tennis, hockey, wakeboard, and a lot of activites, guitar, piano, artcrafts, billards...
I'm in charged of 11 campers, they all are between 7 and 8 years old, they come from all the United States. They are nice, we share a room with all of them and two others counselors, as below.
The day are very long, we wake up at 7.30 AM, and go to bed at around 10PM.
During the day, I have one hour OFF, and I work 6 days on 7. I am between the waterfront and the rest of the camp to watch the kids during their free time. They are around 280 campers and we eat all together in the dining room, each counselors with his own bunk.
They also have evening activities like pool party etc, it's very funy. It's a litle comeback in my childhood.
I will work here until the 15 august.
